The Nutritional Care Process

Initial Consult

The initial consult is the beginning of our work together and entails a comprehensive review of nutrient intake and lifestyle factors as it relates to your goals and desires for nutrition therapy. During this 90-minute consult, we review your health history, any recent labwork, your current medications, and your current eating habits and food environment. We start creating a collaborative care plan that addresses underlying symptoms using food as medicine, taking into consideration potential increased needs using supplement strategies. Additionally, we discuss possible needs for evidence-based functional lab testing, where appropriate. The goal of the initial intake is to instill confidence, assess stage of change, and provide a habit-stacking plan built for long-term success.

Personalized Plan

Personalized nutrition is at the core of my consults. The plan laid out for you includes unique aspects that we discuss in session, as well as educational and nutrition reference sheets for your use at home. Meal plan recommendations and recipes are provided where needed and are tailored to your meal preferences, specific nutritional needs, as well as preparation times. Supplement recommendations, where needed, are also matched to your unique short-term or long-term needs. Your plan is unique because your life and needs are unique.

Ongoing Support

Depending on the goals and the condition that is being supported, we will typically meet at least once monthly for a follow-up. The personalized plan is a living document and ongoing touchpoints allow for the review and re-evaluation of goals, as well as further nutritional education and support. To ensure that you feel confident, personalized messaging is also available via your client portal.
